The Virtual Integrated Unit on Gender Mainstreaming is one of 11 different units in the CMA structure. The main seat of the Unit is the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow, Poland. The leader and director of the VIU-GM is Prof. A. Czyrska-Filemonowicz, Dr Claire Bergman is the deputy director, the VIU-GM officer is Dr Agnieszka Snyder, and Ms Elzbieta Batko is responsible for the unit’s finances. To create a good information network and to improve coordination within the CMA structure, every institution involved was to identify a representative (contact person) who would be a link between their institution and the VIU-GM.
To coordinate the work within the CMA network and to ensure the implementation of the Gender Equality Action Plan, the Unit established a VIU-GM Steering Committee.
Besides working as a virtual unit, the members of the VIU-GM organize physical meetings, workshops and other activities to be able to meet and better understand each other, as well as to have the opportunity for open discussion.
